David Donohue (*1961) ging Mitte der 80er nach New York um Musikjournalist zu werden. Während eines Jahres traf er Lou Reed, John Cage, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass and Sonic Youth (plus James Brown, Neil Young, Paul Simon) zu einem Interview. Er zog sich als Folge aus dem Musikjournalismus zurück um eine Dokumentation über die New York downtown Musikszene zu drehen, "Put blood in the Music". David wird bei uns den Flm "Put blood in the Music" zeigen, über und mit Sonic Youth, John Zorn, Lydia Lunch, Arto Lindsay, Hugo Largo und er wird über diese Phase seines Lebens sprechen, Musik von ein paar der Bands spielen und von den Musikern, die er interviewt hat, Geschichten aus der Zeit erzählen und Fragen beantworten. David Donohue went to New York in the mid 80's to become a music journalist. Within one year he had interviewed Lou Reed, John Cage, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass and Sonic Youth (plus James Brown, Neil Young, Paul Simon). He immediately 'retired' from music journalism to pursue the creation of a documentary on the New York downtown music scene, "Put Blood in The Music". David will show "Put Blood in The Music", featuring Sonic Youth, John Zorn, Lydia Lunch, Arto Lindsay, Hugo Largo, and talk about that period of his life, playing tracks from some of the artists in the documenatary, and from the artists he interviewed. He will tell stories from that period, and answer questions, and talk about how those years influenced his life afterwards.
